Social innovation requires transformation. Innovation means that progress is always possible. It is therefore not about what innovation is, but above all about the process. The process of being and staying in motion. The “how”.

“The world is changing, so we (the organization) must change too.” How often do you hear directors, managers and their gurus make this statement?

People make the organization. You can take this very literally: through their actions (what they say, what they do) they form the complex patterns of meaning that we call the organization.

The energy transition. The challenges in changing elderly care. The transformation of healthcare in general. The changing role of local governments. You name it.

What do we mean by this? Organizational changes often do not get off the ground or they do not achieve the desired goals. We like to manage complex changes. But is this really possible?
